Le Clos Rousseau 2020

Outstanding Grolleau from Melanie & Aymeric of Melaric in Saumur, Loire. Youngish vines, at around 10 years old, but incredibly low yielding for their age, with a one week whole-bunch maceration, followed by one year in barrel. This is a Grolleau like no other: very expressive, with pure black fruit, earth, spice, substance, complex, dense, with a fine tannic structure. Built to last and aging very well. A must-try fans of Syrah from the Northern Rhone. We only have a handful left.
