Easter Bottles

Easter Bottles

Easter is almost upon us: a moveable feast, a time to see family, friends, a time to put your feet up, go out, stay out, a four-day weekend . . . Whatever your approach, a good glass of wine is surely a welcome addition. We've picked a handful of bottles we think pair perfectly with the most unpredictable of seasons.

[Fizz] 2022 Naturlich - Landron Chartier (Loire, France)
Folle Blanche, Pinot Noir, Gamay
Iconic pet-nat. Natürlich is as fresh and juicy as ever, alluringly peachy-hued and alive with its signature pep and ocean-breeze salinity. A perfect aperitif.

[White] 2024 Tribute - Complemen'Terre (Loire, France)
Melon B.
Energetic Muscadet from Marion & Manu at Complemen'Terre. This has a lovely balance of fruit, freshness, weight, their trademark minerality and driving acidity. Unripe pear, melon, green apple, a little grapefruit, lemon curd. Incredible with oysters - bien sur! - but also a great partner to roast white meats or rich/aged cheeses - or as a refreshing aperitif.

[Rose] 2023 Field Blend - Ham Street (Kent, UK)
Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Bacchus, Pinot Gris
A remarkable English rosé: delicate pretty berries, hedgerow florals, and a stunningly pure length. A wonder of a wine from Lucie and Jules at Ham Street, a biodynamic vineyard overlooking Romney Marsh.

[Red] 2022 IDEale - Tenuta Foresto (Piedmont, Italy)
Barbera
100% Barbera from 25-30 year-old vines, from the rolling hills of Nizza Monferrato, a little south of Asti. This is rich, deep, and full-bodied - as you'd expect from the region and such a warm vintage - but with a lovely bright lift to the dark fruit. Ideal for the Easter table.
