La Versaine 2023

Brash and joyful Sauvignon Blanc from Julien Desrante of La Part au Groles, from Charente - a wine region best known for Cognac. The 2023 leans toward the tropical (whereas the 2022 is much more saline), with a lovely weight and lots of tropical fruit. This is such an enjoyable wine, big aromatics, balanced acidity, good fruit, and a refreshing finish. This would go very well with seafood or some goats cheese - but has the freshness and energy to work entirely on its own. Not your standard Sauvignon Blanc. Zero additions. Pure wine.
