Christmas Crackers

Christmas Crackers

HAPPY (almost) CHRISTMAS

With one week to go, it's entirely possible you're on top of everything, with absolutely nothing to organise or worry about for the next few days . . .

Should you live in reality, however, then you should make life a little easier for yourself and order your wine by midday on Monday 22nd to receive it in time for Christmas.

A few suggested bottles, perfect for pouring this time of year:

(Sparkling) Notre Method 2022 - Chateau Gaudrelle, £29.00
Champagne method Chenin Blanc from Vouvray, Loire. Aromatic, crisp, detailed and delicious, with ripe orchard fruit and a little minerality. A steal at this price point.

(White) Domaine Muscadet - Landron Chartier, £22.00
Muscadet is a must for the Christmas menu. This is d
ry, sharp, and saline, with some briney soft fruit. Bring on the oysters.

(Skin Contact) Pas a Pas - Jean-Pierre Rietsch, £48.00
A very special bottle from our man in Alsace.
In terms of grape, method, and bottles produced - this is a unique wine. A perpetual cuvee of Savagnin Rose, from a foudre Jean-Pierre tops up with new juice as he bottles every other year. The 2021 edition comprises the 2011, 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2021 vintages. Beautiful, thoughtful, ever-changing, and complex.

(Rose) Field Blend 2023 - Ham Street, £28.40
Pretty. Pretty Pretty. Soft berries, hedgerow florals, lifted aromatics, and a wonderful length. A beautiful wine from Ham Street in Kent.

(Red) Les Helices 2020 - Chateau Les Vieux Moulins, £25.50
Lovely soft, old vine Bordeaux from the winemaker's mother’s parcels that slope down to the Gironde estuary. This is deep, dark fruited, gently rich. Just a lovely wine for the wintertime.

And we have a couple of our Christmas cases left:
6 bottles, perfect for Christmas, £140.

Cheers!

Christopher
